7th May 2015
Right, well this is exciting! I haven’t actually really ever written a blog before, even though I have often thought about putting pen to paper, or in this case finger to keyboard, so here we go… my first blog!
Let’s start here… it’s lovely to ‘meet’ you all! How’s it going? 2015 has got off to an incredible start for me and I am super excited to say that I am now officially part of the Red 24 Family! It’s such a great place to be! Let me tell you, you won’t find a better, more special bunch of people, all under one roof, then in that Central London office. I see this as a massive ‘team effort’ and feel incredibly lucky that I bagged the best team to work with!
I’ll tell you a little about me, I’m someone with a real passion for life. It’s a crazy, scary, exciting and incredible world, where I see the possibilities are endless. I feel you should always be appreciative and be open to any opportunities, have respect to those surrounding you, mix that with being humble in success, gracious in defeat, and add in pure grit, determination and a massive smile on the face… that pretty much sums me up!
January 2015 brought the most exciting, not to mention nerve-wracking, start to a year I have ever had. To cut a very long story short, after many meetings and demos I got THAT call. You know, the one as a presenter you dream of and you work so hard for. As of January 2015, I joined the Global family and now present the Breakfast Show on Heart Radio in Kent. It is absolutely everything I have ever dreamed of and more. I can safely say that I have never done a job where I have laughed so much at 6 in the morning! A lot of people ask: ‘How did you do that? How did you go into that?’ The answer is, there is no answer. If there was a perfect formula then everyone would be doing it and it would be simple! All I ever say in my response to people is; don’t ever give up, keep focussed, remain true to yourself and amazing things can and do happen! Oh and you’re only as good as your last show, so everyday you have to better yourself. I try to channel that theory into everyday life!
Now I am used to the early starts, as 4.30am wake up calls meant a complete change of lifestyle. I am finally getting back in to all my other passions in life, I am big fan of sports, both watching and playing, music and I’m totally addicted to my iPhone, my friends make my world!
So yeah, I am so excited about the ride this year, come join me! My Twitter and Instagram are both @bexives22 and you can also ‘like’ me on Facebook as ‘Becky Ives’, let’s be friends!
